BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's tennis teams both earned All-Academic recognition in postseason awards announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The squads were recognized as part of the ITA's All-Academic program that honored programs with a 3.2 GPA or higher for the 2006-07 campaign. In addition, 11 individuals earned Scholar-Athlete honors.

Six players from the women's team- Alexandra Franchesci, Charlotte Hitch, Kelsey Hughes, Elizabeth Pedowitz, Kristen Raymond and Rachel Waldman- reached or exceeded the 3.5 GPA requirement for the honor while Tyler Anderson, Sam Bitetti, Alexander Caughron, Andrew Fried and Jamie Neely accomplished the feat for the men's squad.

Both teams are coming off tremendously successful seasons on the court in 2006-07. The women's team won a program-record 17 matches and reached the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" with the men posting a 16-5 mark and a Second-Round berth in the National Tournament.
