BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College women's tennis players Sarah D'Elia (Fairfield, Conn.) and Kristen Raymond (Dover, Mass.) will play in the NCAA Division III Individual Championships this weekend at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va. D'Elia qualified for the Individual Tournament and will team with Raymond in the Doubles Championship as well. Action begins on May 18 with draws to be announced on May 16.
D'Elia and Raymond were also the two Bowdoin players to earn All-NESCAC honors following the Conference Championship. D'Elia earned First-Team All-Conference in singles and doubles, while Raymond collected First-Team Doubles and Second-Team singles recognition.
The pair finished the season ranked third in the ITA Northeast Regional rankings after posting a 20-6 record this year. In dual matches, the duo went 13-5 at the number one singles spot. Individually, D'Elia collected an 11-11 mark overall, playing 14 of those matches as the number one singles player in dual matches. She ended the year ranked 10th in the ITA Northeast rankings. Raymond earned a 19-6 overall record, mostly as the number two slot in dual match play, and finished with a number-13 ranking in the region.
