BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College ice hockey teams will host their annual "Skate With the Polar Bears" Food Drive this Sunday, December 10 from 2-4 p.m. at Dayton Arena. Admission to the open skating session is one non-perishable food item or paper product to be donated to the local food bank.
"The holiday season is when food banks need our help the most," according to men's ice hockey head coach Terry Meagher. "The demands of the season dwindle their supplies and this is a way for us to help them replenish. In addition, we always have a great time spending time on the ice with the community. Its especially fun to see our young fans interact with their favorite players."
Young fans are encouraged to bring pens as there will be autograph sheets provided for players to sign. The Polar Bear men's and women's teams are both ranked in the latest national polls, with the women standing ninth in the nation and men ranked 13th.
