BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior captain Meghan Gillis (Whycocomagh, N.S.) has been named the NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week for her efforts in a pair of road victories for the Polar Bears last weekend. Bowdoin (2-0-0) is ranked eighth in the latest national poll and will host a two-game series against Neumann College this weekend.
Gillis scored three goals- including two powerplay tallies- and added two assists in a pair of Polar Bear wins last weekend. She scored Bowdoin's first goal in Friday's win over Connecticut College before adding two more goals and two assists, including a helper on the game-winning score, in an 8-5 win over Amherst.
For her career, Gillis has 64 goals and 61 assists. Her 125 points rank fifth all-time in Bowdoin women's ice hockey history.
