BRUNSWICK, Maine - Led by First-Team All-NESCAC choice Rogan Donelly (Osprey, Fla.), the Bowdoin College football team had three players earn All-Conference honors in selections announced late last week. The Polar Bears finished the 2006 season with a record of 2-6, earning their first C-B-B (Colby-Bates-Bowdoin) Championship since 1998.
Donelly grabbed a First-Team nod, while seniors Zach Hammond (Holliston, Mass.) and John Regan (Newburyport, Mass.) gabbed Second-Team selections.
Donelly was an anchor on the Bowdoin offensive line in 2006, starting every game at right tackle. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound lineman from the Kent School was key to the Polar Bears' offensive attack. Hammond, a senior defensive lineman, was hampered by injury this season, but closed out his career with a 21-tackle campaign. One of Bowdoin's co-captains, John Regan led the squad in tackles in 2006, with 72 total tackles and 47 solo stops. He also collected three interceptions and a forced fumble.
