BRUNSWICK, Maine - Led by First-Team All-NESCAC selection Ann Zeigler (Washington, D.C.), the Bowdoin College women's soccer team placed four players on the Conference All-Star Teams announced on Thursday evening.
Three players netted Second-Team selections as Grace Moore (Groton, Mass.), Bobbi Dennison (Freeport, Maine) and Kat Whitley (Birmingham, Ala.) were also recognized.
Zeigler, a Third-Team All-American as a sophomore, was Bowdoin's top scoring threat in this, her junior campaign. She led the Conference in goals (13) and points (30) and has topped the Polar Bears in scoring in each of her first three years. With 28 goals and 10 assists for her career, she stands ten goals shy of the school's all-time goal-scoring record entering 2007.
Whitley grabbed her second-straight Second-Team selection after another strong campaign in which she ended third on the team in scoring. She totalled three goals and added four assists to bring her career total to 12 goals and 11 assists.
Dennison capped a stellar campaign in the midfield for the Polar Bears, starting all 15 games this season. A great distributor of the ball, the junior from Freeport dished out three assists this season and has three goals and six assists for her career.
Grace Moore was Bowdoin's top defender this season, playing in every game for the Polar Bears. She also showed a scoring touch, scoring two goals on just four shots in 2006. Moore and Dennison were also honored as First-Team All-NESCAC performers in lacrosse last spring.
Bowdoin finished their season with a record of 7-6-1, reaching the Quarterfinals of the NESCAC Championship Tournament.
