Women's Ice Hockey Ranked Eighth in Preseason

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's ice hockey team is ranked eighth in the National Preseason Poll. The Polar Bears, who finished 17-9-1 last season, have played for the NESCAC Championship in each of the past five seasons and missed out on an NCAA Tournament bid for the first time since the Championship was established for Division III Women's Ice Hockey in 2001-02.

The Polar Bears will be looking to rebound in 2006-07 with their eight top-scorers returning to boost first-year head coach Heather Farrell, including First-Team All-American Kristen Cameron. Bowdoin ended last season ranked 10th in the nation and opens their year at Connecticut College on November 17. The Polar Bears return to Dayton Arena on November 25 with their home-opener against Neumann College.
