BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College junior defender Val Young (Concord, N.H.) and sophomore forward Lindsay McNamara (Milton, Mass.) were named NESCAC Co-Players of the Week as the Polar Bear field hockey team won their second-straight NESCAC Championship last weekend.

The second contest is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. between Middlebury and the winner of Wednesday's William Smith-Eastern game. Sunday's Regional Final is at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Bowdoin students are free with an ID. Tickets will only be available for sale at the field, beginning one hour prior to gametime each day.
Bowdoin will also be webcasting all three Regional games on the internet. Visit the Bowdoin Athletics Webcasting Page for more details.
Young and McNamara shared the NESCAC's final Player of the Week honor of the season following an outstanding weekend. Young anchored a Polar Bear defense that allowed no goals and only two shots on net en route to the 2006 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship. She broke up Middlebury's best chance to score on a second-half penalty corner opportunity and added an assist on the game-winning tally. McNamara provided all the offense for the Polar Bears during their quest for a second-straight NESCAC Field Hockey crown. Bowdoin's leading-scorer notched both game-winners in a pair of 1-0 victories.
