BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College junior Ann Zeigler (Washington, D.C.) has been recognized as the NESCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her efforts in a pair of Polar Bear victories. Bowdoin (4-5-2) will return to action this Saturday against Trinity College (2-8-0) in a Homecoming Weekend tilt.
Zeigler exploded for five goals last week as the Polar Bears snapped a five-game losing skid with two straight wins. The Third-Team All-American ('05) scored the first two goals of the game during Bowdoin?s mid-week win over the University of New England, followed by a hat trick in Saturday?s victory over Connecticut College.
The junior from National Cathedral leads the Polar Bears, and is second in the NESCAC, with eight goals. Zeigler is climbing up the Bowdoin career lists and currently ranks seventh all-time at the school with 23 career goals. Combined with her seven career assists, Zeigler's 53 points stand in a tie for eighth all-time in program history.
