BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College field hockey captain Burgess LePage (Cumberland, Maine) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for her efforts last weekend in a pair of Polar Bear wins. Bowdoin (6-1, 3-1 NESCAC) is currently ranked 12th in the nation and will return to action on Saturday against Tufts.
LePage tallied a total of three goals in back-to-back wins over NESCAC rivals Amherst and Middlebury. The senior forward rallied her team from a two-goal deficit on Saturday against the Jeffs, scoring Bowdoin's first goal and the overtime game-winner in a 3-2 victory. On Sunday, LePage got things going for Bowdoin with a game-tying goal in a 3-2 win over the eighth-ranked Panthers.
LePage is currently tied for the team lead and ranks third in the NESCAC with six goals this season.
