Lovitz Named Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College netminder Nathan Lovitz (Fairfield, Maine) has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week. The Polar Bears (6-1-0, 4-1-0 NESCAC) have won three straight games and will return to action on Saturday against Tufts.

Lovitz was stellar in goal for the Polar Bears during a pair of shutouts over the weekend against NESCAC foes Middlebury and Amherst. He made five saves in a 1-0 win over the Jeffs on Saturday before posting eight more stops in a 2-0 victory over the Panthers on Sunday. Lovitz, who has four shutouts this season, leads the NESCAC with a .897 save percentage and has not allowed a goal in his last 216:17 of play.
