BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College alumni Jared Lemieux (Readfield, Maine) has been signed by the Worcester Tornadoes of the Canadian-American Baseball Association. One of the top players in New England collegiate baseball over the past four seasons, Lemieux was a three-time First-Team All-NESCAC selection and led the Polar Bears to their best-ever season in 2006.
Lemieux set career records in hits (184), runs (148), doubles (36) and walks (94) during his time in Brunswick. He also finished second in runs-batted-in (122) and stolen bases (44). He started all 39 games as a senior in 2006, batting .379 with a .522 on-base-percentage and a single-season record of 36 walks. He also drove in 43 runs, scored 48 and stole 25 bases. He played in 138 career games and committed just one error in four seasons as Bowdoin's centerfielder.
