BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior forward Kyle Petrie (Iowa City, Iowa) has been named to the NESCAC's First-Team in a vote of conference coaches. A captain on this year's team, Petrie led Bowdoin in scoring and rebounding with 16.7 points per game average to go with 6.8 boards per contest. The Polar Bears finished fifth in the NESCAC standings with a record of 16-9.
Petrie closes out his career as one of the most versatile players in Bowdoin basketball history. He is the only player in Bowdoin College men's basketball history to rank in the top five all-time in points, rebounds and assists. In addition, he also stands among the best defensive players, ranking in the top five in blocked shots and in the top ten in steals in Polar Bear history.
He scored exactly 1600 points in his four years at Bowdoin to rank fourth all-time at the school and finished with 770 career rebounds (third) and 336 assists (fourth). His 121 blocks stand third all-time, while his 114 swipes are sixth. In addition, his 101 career three-pointers are tenth among Bowdoin players, while his .428 percentage from beyond the arc stands third.
