Bowdoin Squash Splits With Amherst


BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College squash teams split a home match against Amherst on Wednesday at the Lubin Squash Center. The 12th-ranked Polar Bear women's squad claimed a 7-2 win over 11th-ranked Amherst, while the 11th-ranked Amherst men's team defeated 14th-ranked Bowdoin 6-3.

Winners for Bowdoin on the women's side included Niki Clement (3-0) at the number one position and Emily McKenna (3-0) at number two. The Polar Bears swept the bottom of the ladder to take the upset win, as Alexandra Franceschi (3-1), Jacqueline Deysher (3-1), Dodie Press (3-0), Lydia Pillsbury (3-0) and Madeleine McQueeney (3-0) took victories at the number five through nine spots.

Only three Bowdoin men were able to muster wins against the Jeffs Wednesday, led by an excellent victory from Matt Dresher (3-1) at the top spot. Zach Linhart (3-1) was victorious at number four, while Elliot Beck (3-0) won at number seven.
