BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College junior forward Eileen Flaherty (Fairfield, Conn.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week for her performances in a pair of key regional victories last week. Flaherty leads Bowdoin with a 15.9 points per game average this season.
Flaherty was dominant as fifth-ranked Bowdoin extended their winning streak to eight games. Thursday against Maine-Farmington, Flaherty led all scorers with 20 points and eight rebounds to go with two steals. Against Emmanuel College on Saturday, Flaherty was red-hot, going for 28 points and 10 boards with a pair of swipes. For the week, Flaherty connected on 18-of-33 shots (54.5%) from the floor.
Bowdoin returns to action at arch-rival Bates College this Friday. This week's match-up counts in the NESCAC standings and is slated for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
