BRUNSWICK, Maine - With first-semester play coming to a close, both Bowdoin ice hockey teams appear in just-released national polls on U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO.com). The Polar Bear men (7-1-0) stand sixth in Division III, while the women's squad (3-3-0) is ninth.
The men's team gained one spot in the poll following a home-and-home sweep of Colby last weekend. The Polar Bears- winners of six straight games- don't play again until the Salem State Holiday Tournament on December 27 and 28.
The women's team held onto ninth spot after defeating the Mules on Saturday, 3-2. All three of the Polar Bears' losses have been by a single goal, one to fourth-ranked Manhattanville and a pair to second-ranked Plattsburgh. The women's team returns to action on January 3 at home against seventh-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
