BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College sophomore Ann Zeigler (Washington, D.C.) has been named as a Third-Team All-American selection by the NSCAA in selections announced late last week. The forward led the Polar Bears in scoring this season as Bowdoin reached the NESCAC Semifinals for the sixth straight season and finished with a 10-5-1 mark.
Zeigler, a First-Team All-NESCAC choice, led the Polar Bears with 10 goals and four assists this season. The sophomore from the nation's capital also tallied a team-high four game-winning scores this year, and earned NESCAC Player of the Week recognition following her four-goal weekend on October 29 and 30.
Zeigler was joined by by two other Polar Bears on the All-New England squad. Kelsey Wilcox (Cumberland, Maine) and Anna Shapell (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) were also recognized as First-Team All-Region selections. Wilcox closed out her Bowdoin career with a flourish, scoring two goals and two assists this season while serving as one of the Polar Bears' top two-way players. The Cumberland native finished her women's soccer career with 10 career goals and seven assists. Shapell finished out her career with a solid campaign between the pipes for the Polar Bears, posting a 0.93 goals-against-average and four shutouts.
