Shuman Takes NESCAC Player of the Week Honor

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College men's ice hockey player Brian Shuman has been named New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Shuman, a senior captain on the men's ice hockey team, led the Polar Bears to two key NESCAC wins last weekend at Trinity and Wesleyan. The South Boston native also led a defensive corps that allowed only two goals in the two contests. Overall, Shuman has posted three goals and 12 assists this season, good enough for fifth on the team. The Polar Bears are the only unbeaten team remaining in any division of college hockey, at 13-0-3. Bowdoin is also ranked sixth in the nation in the latest national poll, and will host #2 Norwich and St. Michael's this Friday and Saturday.
