BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College men's ice hockey player Adam Dann (Burlington, Vt.) has been named the NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week. Dann, a senior captain, leads the team and conference in goal scoring with seven tallies this season. Bowdoin (5-1-0) is ranked seventh in the latest national poll and will play a home-and-home with Colby College on Friday (in Waterville) and Saturday (in Brunswick) with both game times slated for 7:00 p.m.
Dann scored four goals and added in an assist in two victories over the weekend for the Polar Bears. Dann scored the game's first goal in a shutout victory over Skidmore on Friday (5-0) before adding the game-tying goal and assist on the go-ahead tally in Saturday's win over Castleton State (6-2). Three of Dann's four goals over the weekend came on the power-play, as the Polar Bears currently boast the nation's best man-advantage unit at 37.2 percent.
Dann, with 51 career goals and 39 career assists, is creeping up on the 100-point barrier for his career. Dann, along with classmate Jon Landry (91) are racing to become the 30th player in Bowdoin hockey history to reach the mark.
