Gormley Honored as Bowdoin Announces NCAA Info

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior captain Margaret Gormley (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week for her performance last weekend in the New England Small College Athletic Conference Finals. The Polar Bears (16-0) earned a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament and have announced ticket information and gametimes for this weekend's regional.

Gormley led the Polar Bears to their second NESCAC Field Hockey title over the weekend, pacing a Bowdoin defense that allowed no goals throughout the 2005 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship.Gormley, who also serves at the point for the Polar Bears on penalty corners, has proved to be one of the top two-way players in the league this season, scoring six goals while leading the defensive corps to a 0.47 goals against average this year.

Bowdoin will host an NCAA Regional this weekend, with gametimes scheduled for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Polar Bears will play the winner of Wednesday's first round contest between The College of New Jersey and Keene State in the early contest on Saturday, while Springfield faces the winner of Middlebury-Manhattanville in the afternoon game. The winners will play at 1 p.m. on Sunday for the right to advance to the National Semifinals.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children and students. Bowdoin students are free with ID.
