BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior wide receiver Jeff Nolin (Dover, N.H.) has been named the NESCAC's Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last Saturday against Middlebury. The Polar Bears (1-0) defeated Middlebury 22-21 and will travel to play at Amherst (1-0) next Saturday in their first road game of the season.
Nolin set the Bowdoin school record with 203 yards receiving, catching 10 balls including one for a touchdown. In addition, the senior's 12-yard reverse run for a touchdown with 2:37 remaining gave the Polar Bears the lead, clinching Bowdoin's first season-opening victory since 1991.
Nolin is creeping up the Bowdoin career lists in a handful of categories, including career catches. His 76 career catches ties him for sixth all-time, while his 896 yards puts him just outside the top-10.
Nolin shared this week's honor with Stefan Hrdina of Middlebury College.
