Ainscough Resigns as Soccer Coach

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College announced today that head men's soccer coach Brian Ainscough has accepted the head coaching position at Northeastern University. An national search for his replacement is already underway.

"Brian is a wonderful coach and colleague," comments Bowdoin athletic director Jeff Ward. "He has done a tremendous job in building our program and we wish him the best of luck at Northeastern."

Ainscough accumulated a 57-19-7 in his five years at the helm of the Bowdoin program, including the 2002 NESCAC Coach of the Year and an appearance in the 2003 NCAA Tournament. Ainscough came to Bowdoin after a five-year stint at Providence, where he took over a team that went 2-16 and turned it into a program that contended for the Big East Championship.
