BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College women's lacrosse coach Liz Grote and senior goaltender Kendall Cox were both honored with IWLCA Awards announced this week.
Coach Grote, who led Bowdoin to a school record-tying 15 victories this season, earned IWLCA New England Coach of the Year honors. The Polar Bears reached the regional final of the NCAA Tournament and won their first-ever NCAA Tournament game, posting a 15-3 overall mark. Coach Grote is 35-17 after just three seasons with the Polar Bears.
Kendall Cox was named IWLCA's Division III Goaltender of the Year after a stellar season between the pipes. A first-team IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse All-American in addition to being a first-team All-NESCAC and All-New England choice, Cox posted a 7.53 goals-against-average and a .536 save percentage this season.
