Lacrosse Teams In National Rankings

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Both Bowdoin College lacrosse teams are among the nation's best in Division III Polls released on Tuesday. The Polar Bear women are ranked seventh in the country, while the men stand 12th in the nation.

The women's squad slipped from sixth to seventh despite winning three conference games last week. Bowdoin (8-1) defeated Tufts, Conn. College and Williams to move to 3-1 in conference play. The Polar Bears have a huge weekend ahead, as they will host second-ranked Middlebury at 11:00 a.m. Saturday before playing unranked, but 3-1, Plymouth State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The men's team, unranked in last week's poll, jumped to number 12 in the country after a pair of convincing wins last week. The Polar Bears defeated then third-ranked Tufts and and NESCAC foe Wesleyan to improve to 7-2 on the season. Bowdoin, a perfect 4-0 in NESCAC play, will travel to play at fifth-ranked Middlebury on Saturday in a key conference showdown.
