Six Track Athletes Qualify For Nationals

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Six Bowdoin College indoor track athletes have qualified for NCAA's this upcoming weekend at Illinois Wesleyan College. The Polar Bears will send three individual qualifiers and the men's distance medley relay squad to the Championship.

Andrew Combs qualified individually in the mile run, and will team up with Steve Bartus, Owen McKenna and Greydoin Foil in the men's distance relay event. Combs qualified with Division III's fifth-best time in the mile this year (4:12.09), while the DMR earned qualification with the seventh-best posting of 10:02.18).

Laura Perovich and Louise Duffus will both compete in the weight throw this weekend at NCAA's. Perovich posted Division III's seventh-best distance of 16.3 meters earlier this season, while Duffus' distance of 15.82 was 11th best.

The weight throw competition will begin at 11:30 on Friday morning. The mile run will be competed at 5:45 on Friday evening, while the DMR will be at 8:40 p.m. that night.
