Sailing Finishes Fall With Successful Showing

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Freshman team closed out the fall season with an impressive top ten showing in the Atlantic Coast Championship at the US Naval Academy last weekend.

The freshman team of Mark Dinneen, Kelly Pitts, Rob Parrish, Morgan Pile and Kate Auth wrapped Bowdoin's most successful freshman fall ever last week with a 9th place finish in the Atlantic Coast Championship held at the U.S. Naval Academy. Sailing against 16 of the East Coast's best freshman teams, the young Polar Bears sailed well against the best competition in the nation.

"This was the most competitive freshman event I have seen in a long while, and all of these competitors can be and have All-American talent. For us just to be at this regatta was a step forward, but to compete as well as we did was a major boost for our program," commented Coach Tom Sitzmann.
