BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's ice hockey teams are both ranked among the best in the nation in the latest national poll released by USCHO.com today. The men's team (9-0-3) are ranked seventh in the nation, while the women (10- 1-0) sit at number two in the country.
The men's team came away with three points in two key NESCAC games last week, beating Williams 4-1 on Friday night before tying third-ranked Middlebury 1-1 on Saturday. The Polar Bears are one of only two unbeaten teams in the nation, along with top-ranked Norwich University. Bowdoin will host two games this weekend versus Tufts on Friday night at 7:00 and Connecticut College on Saturday at 4:00.
The women's team has been ranked second in the nation every week since the second week of the season, and sits at number two again in the latest poll. With their only loss on the season coming to top-ranked Middlebury, the Polar Bears took convincing wins over Trinity, 6-0, and Wesleyan, 5-1, last weekend. Bowdoin will play three road games this week against number ten Southern Maine on Tuesday night and a pair at Connecticut College on Friday and Saturday.
