BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's basketball teams hosted the annual Bowdoin Basketball Clinic For Children this past weekend in Morrell Gymnasium.
The special all-day Halloween clinic gave young members of the community the opportunity to come and develop their skills with their favorite Polar Bear team members. Players from both varsity squads volunteered their time to plan, organize and direct the clinic which featured over 100 young players from ages 7-16.
"The clinic was a true success because it gave our players a chance to meet members of the community, especially the young athletes," according to men's head coach Tim Gilbride. "It also gives us a chance to give back a little something to the area and get people energized about the upcoming season."
Men's co-captain Sean Walker stated that "providing the young kids of our surrounding community the chance to get excited about basketball was a valuable experience and great time."
The Polar Bears men's and women's teams open their home season on Tuesday, November 30 against Southern Maine.
