Mattingly Hired as Assistant Coach

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College has announced the hiring of Courtney Mattingly as their new assistant women's basketball coach. Mattingly, a 2003 graduate of Saint Bonaventure, served as an assistant at Ithaca College last year.

Mattingly will join a talented Polar Bear squad, who finished the 2003-04 campaign with a 30-1 record, their only blemish coming in the National Championship game. Under the direction of head coach Stefanie Pemper, Bowdoin has reached the NCAA Tournament in four straight seasons, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 2001, the Elite Eight in 2002 and 2003 and the National Final in 2004, while winning four straight NESCAC Championships.

Mattingly was an accomplished high school and collegiate player, earning Second-Team All-Atlantic-10 honors in 2002. With the Bonnies, she scored over 1,000 points collected over 500 rebounds and surpassed 300 assists. She also claimed All-Academic Atlantic-10 honors and was selected to the Dean's List every year at Saint Bonaventure.

Mattingly also brings a wealth of coaching experience, having served numerous duties as Assistant Coach at Ithaca College last year as the Bombers finished 23-4 and qualifed for the NCAA Tournament. She also has worked several camps in the Upstate New York area and attended Bainbridge-Guilford High School.
