BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College sophomore men's lacrosse player Connor Fitzgerald (Hingham, Mass.) was named the NESCAC's Player of the Week for his performance in two key Polar Bear wins last week. Bowdoin currently stands at 3-0 on the season entering play this week.
Fitzgerald was pivotal in Bowdoin victories against St. Lawrence and Hamilton, both found in the national rankings. The sophomore attack scored four goals and two assists in the Polar Bears' victory over 17th-ranked St. Lawrence, 14-10. He then posted two more goals in a 13-5 trumping of Hamilton, who was ranked just outside the national top-20 last week.
Fitzgerald was second on the squad last season in scoring, with 19 goals and 34 assists. Bowdoin will return to action on Wednesday when they face Union College in New Port Richey, Florida.
