Trenkle, Pouravelis Honored as All-Americans

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College women's basketball player Lora Trenkle (Surry, Maine) was named a KODAK All-American at the NCAA's annual Division III banquet on Thursday evening. In addition, Trenkle was selected as a First-Team All-American, while teammate Justine Pouravelis was honored as a Honorable Mention All-American.

Trenkle- an NCAA All-Tournament Team member- led the Polar Bears in numerous categories this season, including scoring (13.9) and assists (4.0). She was named the NESCAC Player of the Year for the second time in three seasons and was also tabbed Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year. She closes out her career with the most games played of any basketball player at Bowdoin (115), and ranks second all-time in points (1636) and three-pointers (46).

Sophomore Justine Pouravelis (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) was recognized as a Honorable Mention All-American thanks to an all-around stellar campaign that saw her lead the team in Field Goal Percentage (.513), rebounds (6.9), steals (2.5) and blocks (2.5). The NESCAC's Defensive Player of the Year, Pouravelis set the school record for blocks in a season (77) and after just two years holds the career record for blocked shots with 107.
