MWBCA Honors Bowdoin


BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association has announced their postseason honors and Bowdoin College continued to rake in the honors, claiming Player, Rookie and Coach of the Year selections.

Lora Trenkle (Surry, Maine) was named MWBCA Player of the Year, leading top-ranked Bowdoin to a 26-0 record and their fourth straight NESCAC Championship. Eileen Flaherty (Fairfield, Conn.) took MWBCA Rookie of the Year honors by placing second on the team in scoring and rebounding this season, while head coach Stefanie Pemper earned Coach of the Year honors.

Trenkle and sophomore Justine Pouravelis (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) placed on the All-State First-Team, while Flaherty was a Second-Team and All-Rookie team choice. In addition to the Trenkle and Pouravelis, first team selections were: Olivia Zurek (Bates), Missy Stults (UNE), Jen Webster (USM) and Tiffany Jones (USM).
