Women's Hockey Earns NESCAC Honors

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The top-seeded Bowdoin College women's ice hockey teams placed two members on the All-NESCAC second-team and earned Rookie of the Year honors in voting announced on Tuesday. Polar Bears (pictured, left-to-right) Britney Carr (Conway, N.H.) and Marissa O'Neil (Manchester, N.H.) were named to the second-team, while Meghan Gillis was tabbed Rookie of the Year in vote by the conference coaches.

Bowdoin finished the season tied for first in the NESCAC and will host the conference semifinals and championship this weekend. The Polar Bears will face Hamilton on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Carr, Gillis and O'Neil finished 1-2-3 on the squad in scoring this year, with Carr leading the way by racking up 37 points on 15 goals and 22 assists. O'Neil scored 17 times this season, including a team-high four game-winners, while Gillis ended the year with 17 goals and 19 assists.
