Trenkle Honored as Bowdoin Remains Number One

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin senior co-capain Lora Trenkle (Surry, Maine) was named the MWBCA (Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association) Player of the Week for her performance in two Polar Bear wins last week. In addition, Bowdoin remains the top-ranked team in the and WBCA polls, and are the lone unbeaten team in Division III basketball.

Trenkle put both of Bowdoin's games away early, lighting up Maine-Farmington for 10 points in the first three minutes of a 78-48 win, finishing with 20 points overall in just 14 minutes. She then scored nine first-half points (13 overall) as the top-ranked Polar Bears jumped out to a 25-4 lead against Colby and never looked back, winning 76-48. Over the weekend, she became just the second player in school history to surpass the 1,500-point mark and stands at 1,510 points overall- second on Bowdoin's all-time list to Laura Schultz '96 (1,670 points).
