BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team (10-0) equaled their highest-ever standing in the latest national polls released on Tuesday. The Polar Bears, who garnered four first-place votes, are number two in the nation according to the D3Hoops.com rankings.
The Polar Bears won five games in eight days last week, including an overtime victory against 23rd-ranked Emmanuel last Saturday. In addition, Bowdoin has won 31 consecutive games in Morrell Gymnasium, dating back to February of 2001. Bowdoin was ranked sixth to open the season, and had been ranked as high as second in the poll in 2002-03. Bowdoin returns to action on Tuesday night when they play at rival Colby College.
