BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College women's soccer player Kendall Cox (Guilford, Conn.) has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as a third-team All-American choice, it was announced on Wednesday.
Cox, a junior, has become one of the premier defensive backs in the nation over the past three seasons as the Polar Bears have continued their run of success. A two-time first-team All-NESCAC and two-time first-team All-New England selection, Cox becomes Bowdoin's first All-American honoree since Kristen Doughty in 1998. She is also the starting goalkeeper for Bowdoin's women's lacrosse squad in addition to being an Academic All-NESCAC honoree majoring in Psychology.
The Polar Bears continued to be one of the best teams in the nation in 2003, posting a 13-3 record and finishing first overall in the New England Small College Athletic Conference Standings. Bowdoin has won at least ten games in 11 of the past 12 seasons and has never had a losing season in the 26 years it has been a varsity sport at the school.
