BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team is ranked in the top ten in the nation for the first time this season, while the women's ice hockey team holds steady at number two in the latest national polls released yesterday. The Polar Bear women's basketball team returns to action on January 5 at Mary Washington, while the women's hockey team will play at St. Thomas on December 27.
The women's basketball team picked up an 80-40 win in the lone game on their schedule last week against Husson. The Polar Bears are off to a scalding 6-0 start this season and are the only NESCAC team ranked in the top 25. The women's ice hockey team fell in a one-versus-two matchup on Friday night against Middlebury, 3-2. Bowdoin bounced back in a big way on Saturday, beating then-number five Williams 4-2. The Polar Bears are 5-1-0 and sit at number two in the nation again this week.
