Academic All-NESCAC Honors

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2003 Fall All-Academic Selections. The NESCAC all-academic team honors both athletic and academic excellence and features individuals who were solid contributors on a varsity sport with at least a sophomore academic standing and 3.35 cumulative GPA. Bowdoin was honored with ten selections (five men and five women), including three student-athletes from both the women's soccer and football squads.

From the women's soccer team, First-Team All-NESCAC selections Kendall Cox (Guilford, Conn.) and Michal Shapiro (Newton, Mass.) were honored, as was Christine Goss (Shrewsbury, Mass.). First-Team All-NESCAC honoree Amanda Burrage (Brookline, Mass.) of the field hockey team was selected, while Ellen Beth (Holden, Mass.) of Bowdoin's NCAA-qualifying cross-country team was also chosen.

Football players Chris Wagner (Norfolk, Mass.), James Weeks (Worcester, Mass.) and Mark Drauschke (Melrose, Mass.) were chosen for the All-Academic team. In addition, Justin Berger (Canton, Conn.) of Bowdoin's Eastern Series Championship-winning Sailing squad was selected, while men's golfer Adam Goodfellow (Milford, Conn.) was also tabbed.
