BRUNSWICK, Maine - The New England Small College Athletic Conference has named Bowdoin College sophomore Jessica Schlobohm (Santa Barbara, Calif.) as their Volleyball Player of the Week. It marks the first time a Bowdoin athlete has been honored as a Volleyball Player of the Week in the five seasons that the Conference has officially issued the weekly honors.
Schlobohm had a stellar week for Bowdoin, as the outside hitter averaged 5.4 kills/game (71 total) and 3.0 digs in a 3-1 week for the Polar Bears. The Polar Bears defeated the University of New England, Connecticut College and Trinity College before falling to Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. Schlobohm's team-leading 138 kills this season have lifted Bowdoin to a 6-2 mark to start the year, nearly equaling last years' win total of nine. Bowdoin will host the Polar Bear Invitational this weekend.
