BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College
Women?s squash team will compete in the CSA
national championships this weekend, February 14th
? 16th. The College Squash Association divides 29
competing teams into four divisions based on
regular-season match play.
Bowdoin is the first seed in the Kurtz Cup division and is currently ranked #9 overall. The women have compiled a 16-5 record this season, falling only to higher-ranked opponents. The Bears have recorded success against competition from their divisional tournament already this season. Bowdoin claimed the CBB title from #11 Bates and #12 Colby last week. Amherst holds #10 overall and the second seed in the divisional tournament after falling 6-3 to the Polar Bears in January.
The squad is led by First-Year Niki Clement, who stands at 16-4 on the season in the #1 spot, and Senior Merrill Muckerman, who has a 17-4 record at #2. Bowdoin will open the tournament against #16 Middlebury at 9:30am on Friday and look to repeat a 7-2 win from January.
