BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced their All-Conference teams on Friday. Four Polar Bears were included in the North Atlantic Division Team. Senior Dave Harden (Yarmouth, Maine) was named to the first team, while Senior Namsoo Lee (Seoul, South Korea), Junior Mike Long (Millis, Mass.) and Sophomore Bill Alto (Sydney, Maine) were named to the second team.
Bowdoin players made up four of the possible twelve field positions on the Conference team, the most of any school in the league. This is Harden's third All-Conference appointment since emerging as one of Bowdoin's top field players his Sophomore year. Lee, returning to Maine after several years in his home country, proved to be the Polar Bears top defensive player this year, shutting down opponents in the hole 78% of time. Alto and Long, together, had a 95% sprint-win ratio and were the key players in Bowdoin's speed situations.
Bowdoin finished with a 7-5 record this season, obtaining second place in the North Atlantic Divsion Championships in the process. Alto will team up with fellow sophomore Nicole Goyette (Stockton, Calif.) to lead next year's promising young team. The entire All-Conference team can be viewed here.
