BRUNSWICK, Maine -
The New England Small College Athletic
Conference has announced its
All-Academic Selections for the fall season.
Ten Bowdoin College athletes were honored,
representing five
different squads. To be honored, a
student-athlete must have reached
sophomore academic standing at his
or her institution. The student-athlete must be
a starter or a key reserve on a varsity sport
with a
grade-point average of at least 3.35.
Four football players were selected to the squad, as senior captains quarterback Justin Hardison (West Hartford, N.Y.) along with lineman Justin Foster (Marston Mills, Mass.). They were joined by two juniors, tight end Mark Drauschke (Melrose, Mass.) and defensive lineman Chris Wagner (Norfolk, Mass.).
Three women's soccer players were selected, highlighted by captains, senior Amory Bradley (Weston, Mass.) and junior Michal Shapiro (Newton, Mass.). Junior Leah Bressack (Los Altos, Calif.) was also chosen.
Field hockey player Amanda Burrage was an All-NESCAC selection in field hockey, and was also chosen to the All-Academic team. Two senior cross-country runners were chosen for the squad, as Elizabeth Barney (Troy, Ohio) and Scott Barbuto (Brunswick, N.Y.) were tabbed. Both Barbuto and Barney earned All-NESCAC honors earlier this fall.
