Men's Hockey To Host Under-18 National Team

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's hockey team will host the United States Under-18 National Squad this weekend in an exhibition at Dayton Arena. The game will part of the Bowdoin- Colby Classic Doubleheader, with the Polar Bears facing the National Team at 5:00 and Colby playing Johnson & Wales at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25.

The U.S. Under-18 team brings an enormous amount of talent to the table, as seen in the team's 6-4 victory over Division I powerhouse Michigan State earlier this season. The U.S. National Under- 18 Team is part of the National Team Development Program based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The goal of this full-time development program is to prepare student-athletes under the age of 18 for participation on the U.S. National Teams and in future hockey careers. Its effort focuses on high-caliber participation on the ice and creating well-rounded individuals off the ice.

This year's team includes some local flavor, as the National Team includes Lisbon, Maine native Greg Moore. In last year's game, the Polar Bears faced such talent as Ryan Whitney, now at Boston University, who is rated in the top five NHL prospects in the world.
