BRUNSWICK, Maine - In the
national rankings released by the coaches'
panel of Sailing World on Thursday, the
Bowdoin College women's team has cracked
the top 15 for the first time this season. The
Polar Bears
rank 13th in the latest national poll. The team
consists of members Allison Binkowski,
Laura
Windecker, Jacquelyn Haskell, Caitlin Moore,
Emily Bruns and Ellen Grenley.
"Our team has a great attitude and the success of the women's program is a reflection of the entire team's hard work," according to head coach Tom Sitzmann. "This is no small feat for these women, who sail weekly against the nation's best sailors- and who only started sailing together this fall!"
Bowdoin, who hosted the Casco Bay Open two weeks ago (above photo), will again play host to the nation's sailors this weekend. The Polar Bears will be the home this on Saturday for the Eastern Series III Regatta.
