One of the top hitters in the NESCAC, Joe Berte led Bowdoin in several offensive categories as a sophomore, batting .357 with four home runs, 25 RBI's with a .432 on-base-percentage for the year. As a freshman, he hit .372 with four homers and 34 RBI's. For his performance, he was
awarded the 2006 Bowdoin First-Year Male Athlete of the Year. At Marlborough High School, Joe was a 2-time
Mid-WACH All-Star, 2-time Metrowest All-Star, and Central Mass All-Star. In addition, he was a member of the
National Honor Society and was a Boys' State Elected Representative. A Government/Legal Studies major at
Bowdoin, Joe enjoys movies, watching sports, and making gains. Joe is the son of Joe and Martha Berte, and
has a younger brother Matt.
