A fiery guard, Alexa Kaubris has played in every Bowdoin game in the past two seasons, starting all 31 games as a sophomore in 2006-07. Kaubris was fourth on the team at 6.7 points per contest and equaled her career high of 12 points on four occasions, including both contests in the NCAA Regional against Rochester and Mary Washington. Kaubris made an immediate contribtion as a first-year for the Polar Bears in 2005-06. Seeing action in every game, she averaged over 18 minutes per contest and scored a season-high 10 points in a win at Williams. Kaubris joined the Polar Bears after a stellar career at Dirigo. Also lettering in soccer and track, she led her basketball team to three state championships, and was rewarded with a slew of awards after her senior campaign. She was named a McDonald's Senior All-Star, a candidate for Miss Maine, the Western Class C MVP, the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year and a member of the Bangor Daily News All-State 1st Team. In addition to the court, she also excelled in the classroom, serving as President of Dirigo's National Honor Society chapter and earning class valedictorian honors.

Last summer I? Worked at a local country club and at a few summer basketball camps in Maine. I also spent a lot of time having fun with friends and family at my camp.

Best advice I've been given? Choices not chances

One thing I have learned from being part of this team? Staying positive and encouraging each other can help you and everyone else play better and have more fun. It can be the key to turning a rough practice into a good one.

Favorite memory of last season? The elite eight game at USM. It was an amazing atmosphere and I learned a lot.
