Karen Reni returns this spring for her third season with the Polar Bears. After breaking several pitching records as a freshman, Karen is the most experienced pitcher on the team, and the young Polar Bear squad will look to her for continued composure in high-pressure situations. Last year, Karen set the school record for most wins in a single season by a pitcher (tied with Jacobs at 13). An Economics major, Karen is a self-proclaimed dance party enthusiast and relies on Starburst Jelly Beans to get through a game. Karen is a graduate of Ashland High School in Ashland, Massachusetts. As a junior Karen studied abroad in Rome for her fall semester through the Trinity College program. Karen is a member of the Bowdoin Women's Varsity Golf Team, and she is also a monitor at Watson Fitness Center. Daughter of Bob and Pam Reni, Karen has an older sister Lynn, 23.

What's your favorite team memory?
Toss up between Ali's Harry Potter Scar and JP tripping over home plate so hardcore that the dirt on her white uniform never really washed out completely.

What's your favorite class at Bowdoin?
Maine Politics with Professor Potholm. He keeps you engaged with his lectures that are filled with sarcastic, honest comments.

What's on your iPod right now?
A lot of Dave Matthews, The Fray, and Ashlee Simpson (obviously)

Who/What is your biggest influence in your life?
My big sister, Lynn.

What's your favorite Bowdoin thing?
Taking naps in between classes on the quad during the fall.

What are you looking forward to this season?
False-Juicing, DQing, and NESCAC tourney-ing!
