Tyler is part of the 2005 All-NESCAC and All-New England teams. He went to Staples High School in Connecticut. He competes in all three seasons with a personal best of 15:20 in the 5000m and 31:57 in the 10000m.

Tyler will graduate in 2008 with a major in Economics and a minor in Biology. He also enjoys cycling, sailing and playing the cello.
