Studying abroad is an important component of many Bowdoin students' education. These guidelines should help students coordinate their major programs with plans to study away.
One off-campus history course per semester will count toward the history major.
In exceptional cases, students may petition to receive credit for more than one course per semester.
In all cases, a maximum of three history courses taken away from Bowdoin can count toward the history major, but no more than two can count toward the field of concentration.
Minors may count one course a semester, for a maximum of two for a year away.
