Instructions for using the Digital Dropbox in Blackboard

Note:  MAC users should use Firefox as their browser for submitting files through Digital Dropbox.

1. Log into Blackboard; then select the course for which you are sending the assignment.

2. Beneath the course menu, click on Control Panel.

3. In the Course Tools subfolder, choose Digital Dropbox.

4. There are two options in the dropbox. The Add File option simply adds your file to a queue so that you can send it later. But it does not send the file to your professor. Use Send File which queues the file and sends it immediately.
Note: please save your file with either a .doc (word document) or .rtf (rich text format) extension, before submitting it on Blackboard

5. Type some text into the Name textbox (your name, assignment title, etc.).

6. Click on Browse next to the File to locate the essay or assignment file on your computer. Upload the file.

7. You can type some comments in the Comments box, if you wish.

8. Then click Submit to send the file to your professor.

A copy of the file will be sent to your professor and one will remain in your Dropbox. The server will date-stamp the file, indicating when you submitted your essay.
